Hello! First Post!

We’re thrilled to have a new place to update everyone on the many projects we have going here in North Central Philadelphia!

In the last few weeks, with the help of St. Joe’s Prep volunteers, we broke ground at 1815 Gratz Street – future home for Tara Williams and her son, David! Then last Friday, we had the excitement of Comcast Spotlight coming out to film part of our TV promo – we’ll let you know when it’s airing!

Just as we’re getting started on Gratz Street, we’re ever closer to completion at 1900 Morse Street, the first of the five North Philadelphia Complete Blocks Project (NPCBP) home construction projects we started back in March. Walls are up, along with siding, and it’s looking more like a home everyday!

On the Weatherization and Home Repair (WHRP) front, we had Women Build alums come out last week, and work on two decks on Uber street with our WHRP site supervisors and directors, Emily & Vicki. Trayce Bryant’s home (1916 Wilt Street) and Susan Waters’ home (1839 N. Uber Street) are weatherized and repaired, and we’re still working with volunteers out at 1904 Morse, 1834 N. 19th, and 1904 Wilt Street.

Now that you’re caught up to speed, we’ll be regularly updating you with project information – keep following! 🙂
